This is a pre-school center catering to 100 children (3 to 7 years). Through this project Towards Future is trying create awareness on education from pre-school age. Objective of this project is to promote social & emotional development of the children from their early childhood. This Project endeavours for helping children to develop their language & cognitive skills in a structured but joyful environment. Shishumon-BTF Learning center nurtures child`s curiosity about education and its activity based learning methods boost pre-math & literacy skills which are helpful for the kids to adopt formal education system later. As all children are first generation school goers, most of them are not in a process of motor skills development which is required in future for writing. From our pre-school center we will send all the children to the primary schools. We have a close association with the primary schools and it helps us to monitor the regular attendance & progress of the children who have been admitted in primary schools. We will encourage parents to get in touch with the primary school teachers to know their child`s progress. We also organize several workshops and interactive sessions for the government sponsored school teachers on quality education and proper implementation of Right To Education Act 2009.

General view of Towards Future’s Sishumon project is to Provide opportunities for basic education with joyful learning along with Improve Health & Hygiene of the children.

When we started our project in Kalikapur, Rajarhat, in 2oo9, we have made a survey of adjascent villages Patharghata gram panchayet. As a outcome of this survey we noticed literacy rate is not at all up to the mark and students are becoming drop out in various reason in these villages. Then we decided to make education a part of life to these rural people and started our school project Shishumon.
