SVP goal

To strengthen community resilience by supporting women’s transition from training to income generation, fostering self‑reliance, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial capacity while reducing dropout rates and expanding livelihood pathways.

Project description

Launched in February 2026 as part of Cohort 1, Jagoron enrolled 212 women in training programs across tailoring, beauty care, mehendi, cooking and baking, and computer skills. While most participants attend regularly, some face irregularity or dropout challenges, which the program addresses through mentoring, motivational support, and family engagement.

Community mobilization has been a cornerstone of the project, with door‑to‑door visits, focus group discussions, and local meetings encouraging participation. Training sessions are enriched by expert‑led workshops that link technical skills to livelihood opportunities. These workshops have included garment construction, make‑up demonstrations, and customized food and baking orders, preparing women for freelance, home‑based, and small‑scale enterprise work.

Special events such as International Women’s Day and Bengali New Year celebrations have increased visibility and strengthened community ownership. Despite socio‑cultural barriers and hesitation among some women, Jagoron has evolved into a trusted social and learning space. The program’s mid‑term outcomes highlight both progress and potential. Women are demonstrating readiness to initiate services and small enterprises, while digital literacy training has introduced them to social media tools for business promotion and customer outreach. The way forward includes continued mentoring, stronger family and community engagement, and networking with local stakeholders to expand livelihood pathways.

Jagoron reflects Towards Future’s vision of enabling women to move confidently from skill acquisition to income generation, reinforcing empowerment and sustainable community development.
